Review of Celia

Celia (2015–2016)
6/10
Educational and Entertaining But Disappointed
26 May 2019
I am African American and watched this show because it caught my eye that the main characters were black. I absolutely ENJOYED it for the first 55 episodes. I didn't know about Celia so it helped me to do so as well as learn about the history of Cuba. The couple they used in the first half had so much chemistry that it was refreshing. But then they switched up characters as if they ran out of makeup and couldn't just make the chemistry-having characters look older. They pulled us in with this couple then pulled the rug right from under us. I stopped watching it after they married because of the change and had to do research in order to find out the end of the story. What possessed them to change up the characters? Who knows. But that was a HUGE mistake. They should consider starting where they left off and bring back all the original actors (even obnoxious, let-me-push-fast forward Lola and Billy).

Way to ruin it!!!!!
