What we know about Baretta: As a we lad I watched Baretta, and there was lot's of cop shows' and I mean a lot, and This is why Baretta stood out. There was a catchy intro songs. When Baretta was on late my mom would let me catch the song before bed time. But the kicker of the hook is the Parrot called Fred. A cockatoo which would pick up the phone a say hello. What can I say as a child the show got me hook. Well I caught a few Baretta re-runs as an adult well to say Baretta is a gritty undercover cop. A formulated cop show. Baretta is usually helping out runaways, and informants from some bad dudes. The usual base track, pimp hats, and side burns 70's show. Formulated cop show with a problem at the beginning, and as the story unfolds Baretta has a mystery to solve. Well I can see why the 70's cop shows died out with the saturation similar themes just like Westerns before it, and now P C formulated shows of today; where the characters and story line become a little too predictable. 6 stars. A typical 70's style show.
