Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: Below average adaptation
5 May 2019
Man there are a lot of adaptations of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, in fact has anything else been remade to this degree? This 1920 adaptation is certainly a forgettable one and goes into business for itself to disappointing degrees.

If you're wanting a loyal adaptation this should not be your first port of call, though it doesn't exactly go off on a tangent it hardly sticks to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic to the letter.

I'm a tad bias granted, I don't like silent movies that are........silent. Musical overlay please or I find the silence quite deafening. To make matters worse this classic tale is a tad overplayed for my liking and I'm not sure I was exactly a fan to begin with.

This version hasn't aged well, the 1913 version in fact looks better than this. Everything about it reeks of averageness.

The Good:

Interesting enough attempt

The Bad:

Pure silence
