As far as musicals go this was a good movie. For me singing and acting don't mix. I want one or the other. Really, I'd define this movie as cute. Dick Van Dyke plays the lovable loser of an inventor. He has two adorable kids that he's raising on his own. Then there's the wealthy love interest. Because a large chunk of the movie was fantasy and singing I can only go so far as calling the movie cute.
