Fans of Stephen Chow expecting his brand of slapstick humour may be disappointed in his latest movie, while still providing some laughs, is actually an excellent melodrama about a struggling bit actress finally achieve her dream of becoming a big star.
A remake of Stephen Chow's King of Comedy, but with less silly humour and more drama to appear to your emotions.
The last few scenes are especially touching and memorable, in one, the lead actress Dreamy in an audition, recreating a scene which she found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her. Great performance from a newcomer.
My favourite Stephen Chow movie so far. Highly recommended.
