Here we have the music video for the song "Wake Me Up" by Swedish DJ Avicii. I must admit that I probably never would have heard the name if it wasn't for his suicide last year that was all over the media. "Wake Me Up" is his biggest hit and it made number one in many many countries all over the globe from what I just saw. I am a bit surprised by that though. I mean you should not speak badly about the dead, but honestly, I cannot really see the appeal and why this is closer to 2 billion on Youtube than to one billion since its release over 5 years ago. It is catchy yes and the song is not too shabby I suppose. The music video is tolerable, but feels a bit random most of the time and not as artistic as the makers want us to believe it is. The overall outcome taking everything together is definitely not a failure or so, but it is also nothing that would warrant the huge success it had. Not a must-see. Feel free to skip this one. All in all, I give it a thumbs-down, which could also have to do with this not being my favorite music genre, but in any case it does not get me curious about Avicii's other stuff and I have zero intention to listen to this one anytime soon again. Not recommended.
