Be Cool (2005)
7/10
An Entertaining Crime/Music Industry/Comedy Thriller
22 January 2019
12 May 2006. It's not easy trying to make a comedy out of nasty, sometimes lethal music industry, Russian Mafia, gangster movie. With The Rock and Vince Vaughn playing out of character along side Danny DeVito, James Wood, Cedric the Entertainer, and Harvey Keitel, Steven Tyler as well as the leading stars, John Travolta and Uma Thurman, and introducing Christina Milian as a good singer, dancer, performer, the stage is set for an unusual set up and double cross along with some good laughs. This breezy, entertaining movie isn't as dramatic nor as smooth as it could be, but the natural performances, the comic/dramatic elements make up for a lot of the chaos on the screen. This American version of Snatch (2000) or Lock, Stock, Two Smoking Barrels (1998) brings its own unique flair to the underbelly of the movie industry, a Cinderella Story of sorts. Seven out of Ten Stars.
