Review of Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber

17 June 2006. In a daring move, Jennifer Love Hewitt finds herself as a very nasty, not very well liked, and a much off-putting character in this rather overly vicious, narcissistic romantic comedy. Unfortunately, even the personable Hewitt can't quite Teflon coat off the negative vibes of her character making this film hard to enjoy with such an unlikeable character. But Hewitt manages to put on a decent performance and go with the script making the overall movie a tolerable, sometimes funny, sometimes despicable experience. The build up is too long in coming, yet the unusual premise of sociopath who gets her due as a romantic comedy is savaged by preserverance and Hewitt. Six out of Ten Stars.
