Time Share (2018)
2/10
It felt like my train just got cancelled.....again.
19 January 2019
I stumbled across this gem about buying time shares whilst looking for a fresh Danish movie (which seem to be consistently satisfying) on Netflix. None were available, so instead I chose this. I watched and watched just waiting for that crucial moment where everything comes together and you realise that you aren't simply watching a rather dull anti-timeshare, anti-big corporation movie with the level of depth that you may get from an annoying and pretentious university student. I got to the end of the movie and am still waiting for the moment of brilliance to shine through. Did the movie explore the family theme? Hmm, not sure it did, though they used the word 'family' quite a bit, so I'm also a bit confused about why other reviewers thought it did. It is true that this is an unsettling, ruffling experience of the imperfection of humanity, but so are British railways, and I wouldn't necessarily go on a train ride in the UK for entertainment/insight/ philosophical perspective. I'd end up going berserk with frustration about how I'm wasting my time. Life is short. Watch a better movie.
