Charming If You Like Swimming With Men
14 November 2018
This was a clever and thoughtful movie that tried and succeeded to examined the "mind the gap" syndrome. The gap that ever widens with age between how a person thinks their life should have been and how it is in reality and realisation of this dreadful fact.

The movie chose some key themes to explore, bereavement, failure, relationships and the changing nature of love. It succeeded without getting bogged down in detail and used the vehicle of synchronised swimming as the vehicle of redemption.

I ensemble acting was strong and you felt a visceral chemistry between the protagonists. I was convinced by it all and embarrassed at the same time just as the director intended.

The movie is charming and I enjoyed it but I can see it would not appeal to everyone, if you enjoyed Finding Your Feet or Bridget Jones you should like this.
