An American comedy; This story fails at farce, satire and comedy. It's a pity because the premise is quite promising. While there is amusement in some routines it is too silly for its own good. There needed to be sufficient tension between moshing teenager and the despot for it to work. Casting Michael Caine as a Central American dictator was a poor choice. This leaves the film's appeal to a teenage audience who might appreciate how the precocious characters are drawn and the many pop culture references.
