Farley charms
20 August 2018
Haru (Chris Farley) was found by a clan of ninjas as a baby washed up on shore. He may be the prophesized great white ninja but his bumbling incompetence would suggest otherwise. After everyone except Haru is elevated to ninja and sent on a mission, he is alone in the compound when Sally Jones (Nicollette Sheridan) arrives looking for help. He follows her back to Beverly Hills to solve her case which leads him to all-too-real dangerous underworld counterfeiters. The best student and his adopted brother Gobei (Robin Shou) is sent to help Haru but only in secret. Haru checks in at a high end hotel where he befriends bellboy Joey Washington (Chris Rock).

Chris Farley is one charming guy. His bumbling antics is fun for a little while. Gobei's frustration is funny. At a certain point, this one joke movie gets a bit tiresome. They could have used more Chris Rock. The Chrises would make a fun duo. At least, they could have tried. This is a movie made in the pitch meeting and rode on the back of Farley. I doubt one can expect much from this and one won't get much other than the same joke over and over again.
