Joanna Lumley is the most charming, empathetic and warm host you could imagine, as she takes us on a magical journey through some beautiful Greek historical places, and interviews some great people. She is not just joining the dots and ticking boxes - she has a genuine sense of awe and wonder. Yes, she does go to some of the tourist spots, but she also goes way off the beaten track to places most of us wouldn't go. She knows how to ask interesting questions and pick out the best pieces of information. The scene with the old lady who lives alone in a medieval ghost town and picks wild asparagus to eat is powerful and whimsical. The scene with Nana Maskouri at the ancient amphitheatre is genuinely reverent and fascinating. I wish Lumley would do more of these programs. She's the best in the business for hosting this sort of show.
