If Cameron Crowe and Amy Heckerlings 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' is a love letter to teens in the 80's, then 'Social Animals' is a love letter for 30 year old hipsters in 2018. It smashes the 'manic pixie dreamgirl' persona wide open by creating a female main character that is fully realized and is not just a prop for a "straight man" to realizes he needs to let loose. It has an amazing ensemble cast (it's literally a who's who of all best TV people from all your fave shows), great snappy dialogue, awesome music, and the city of Austin has never looked more beautiful on screen. If you're anything like me, you're gonna wanna watch this movie multiple times, so don't rent it....BUY IT!
