Only for Trekkies
13 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
"Star Trek: The Experience - The Klingon Encounter" is a very long title for a pretty short film, even if the 4 minutes listed here on IMDb may not be entirely correct. Maybe that's only the spectacular space flight action sequence. The word "experience" gives away already that this is a theme park attraction and it's one for SciFi fans only, especially for Star Trek fans, and like with almost all the others it is really mostly worth seeing live and only live sadly. The way the people are drawn in early on with this reference about one of them being an ancestor whose death could prevent a crucial birth was very smart and well done. But this was really the only thing I kinda enjoyed about this here and I am not sure if it really counts for this one here, most likely not if it runs for 4 minutes only. You will see and hear several important figures from the Star Trek universe, which is the main reason why I believe Trekkies can actually enjoy this one. But they maybe want to be the only ones and I am talking here only about seeing it online as I am not sure the attraction exists still. I don't think so. So only live this would also be worth seeing for non-Trekkies. Overall, I give it a thumbs-down and suggest you skip it.
