4/10
Fitting, but unaesthetic

Warning: Spoilers
"Franz Kafka" is a Polish 16-minute short film from 1992 and it was written and directed by Piotr Dumala. It has its 25th anniversary next year and some awards bodies clearly loved it. I did not though. I think that in terms of style and atmosphere it fits Kafka and his somewhat dark tales, but for the audience, I thought this one here was a really unappealing watch. Also it is pretty brave to go for a biopic that runs for clearly under 20 minutes. If you like black-and-white animated films with dark tone and atmosphere, then this one here may exactly your preferred choice. I personally did not see the appeal though and I would recommend the watch only to huge Kafka fans. I will check out some more works by Dumala soon and I hope these are superior. This one here gets a thumbs-down.
