Review of Seventh Avenue

NBC Best Sellers was a television series broadcast by NBC in 1976- 1977.In February 1977, NBC aired Seventh Avenue, the third of four NBC Best Sellers brought to TV. I undoubtedly remembered being glued to the TV,watching Seventh Avenue day and night, because the material and acting was so good it would be a mistake turn away for a second. From my point of view, Seventh Avenue was in the same class, when it comes to greatness, as Captains and the Kings, which was the first of four Best Sellers to be presented by NBC. Even though I've seen Seventh Avenue no more than two times, I will never forget it. The cast started as Stephen Keats playing the starring role of Jay Bagman, and Dorie Branner starring as his wife, who was a very naive innocent girl who fell in love with Jay. The TV-series is primarily about a poor guy named Jay Bagman, who had some rough edges but a bright mind, which would stop at nothing in trying to rise to the top in the New York garment industry. Eventually, NBC brought Captains And The Kings to VHS along with the second and third Best Sellers Once an Eagle and The Rhinemann Exchange. However, I feel like The Rhinemann Exchange had the weakest material of all four Best Sellers, due to its predictable plot and sadly boring script. I believe that Seventh Avenue was, out of all of them, exceedingly superb in a way that you could not fail to remember even throughout the years. Every time I would watch Captains and the Kings on DVD, it would dawn on me. Why didn't NBC release Seventh Avenue on DVD as well? Still to this day, I can not seem to grasp NBC's intentions on not making Seventh Avenue a DVD/VHS. However, I continue to look for it in various stores, but still having to meet disappointment at the end.
