"Catwoman Goes to College" was shot before "That Darn Catwoman," but was held back due to the release of Lesley Gore's latest single. When viewed first, this makes more sense in that Bruce Wayne has agreed to become Catwoman's parole officer, ensuring her release from prison to make up for being a high school dropout by returning to college at Gotham State University. As one might expect, it's just another ploy to get Batman and Robin out of the way, with henchman Cornell (Paul Mantee) donning cape and cowl to impersonate Batman in a supermarket robbery, while the real Caped Crusader enjoys a soda with Catwoman. New to Gotham City's police force (from Los Angeles) is Captain Courageous (Stanley Adams), who endeavors to arrest Batman for the time being, until Alfred arrives as solicitor Serge Tort, switching costumes to allow his employer to escape. A gathering of students in Chimes Square is where the Dynamic Duo locate Catwoman, once more falling for her ruse of tears, held captive in a rooftop coffee display which has been filled with sulfuric acid: "if you get that searing feeling in your stomachs, it won't be heartburn!" Paul Mantee was no stranger to Adam West, both had starred in the 1964 "Robinson Crusoe on Mars," while David Lewis makes the fifth of his eight appearances as Warden Crichton. The Batclimb cameo is that of Art Linkletter, longtime television emcee and game show magnate, discussing a revival of PEOPLE ARE FUNNY, before realizing that the wall climbing Caped Crusaders would make perfect subjects!
