An uninspiring plea to stop using plastic
24 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
When you have seen the Mako/H2O series, you will find this movie very weak indeed. The plot has two themes. First there is the pollution of the Ocean. We get to learn a bit about it, but then the movie takes another direction. The three mermaids get kidnapped and the kidnappers draw some Mermaid-sample which is delivered to a man who has a daughter who can not walk. He wants her to become a mermaid. One of the girls escapes and warns the police. When the police comes, the girl who kidnapped them was arrested, but the scientist who gave the order is not, as the mermaids feel sorry for the paralyzed girl who needs her father. The movie ends with a plea to stop using plastic.

The acting is bad. Everything feels like it was made up by kids who wanted to surprise their parents and read the whole thing aloud from paper. The theme about plastic never gets through to me. It feels like an annoying side product, which is a shame, as I believe that the message is important.
