Jimmy Wang Yu - light version - less filling tastes okay
4 November 2015
I'm a big fan of Jimmy Wang Yu and I like to call him the mad man of martial arts movies. This is based on "Master of the Flying Guillotine" and stories of his antics while filming "The Man From Hong Kong." However, in this movie, he was rather sane. He plays an assassin who gets between two rival gangs. It seems on purpose and the double crossing business is contrived. I really did not buy into his moral premise that although he was an assassin he would not work for drug dealers. Really? You would be killing drug dealers, Jimmy! The movie does gets talkative in the middle but I recommend either take a nap or hit fast forward because the end fight pays off. Chia Ling does a good job fighting with a spear and Jimmy versus Chang Yi was also a good fight. I rate it a slightly above average 6 out of 10 mostly because of the final fight.
