Anemic Cinema (1926)

Spirals, circles and French phrases

Warning: Spoilers
That's basically all there is during these 7 minutes. It's a black-and-white movie, which is not too uncommon for 1926 and it is certainly experimental. Still I have no idea if there is some deeper message in there, probably with the phrases (one of them is incest-related), but this film did not do much for me. Marcel Duchamp was in his late 30s when he made this and it stayed the only movie he directed until his death. However, he worked in other functions on other films and I really hope these turned out better than this one here. Pretty surprised to see it is fairly famous as I really cannot see any reason at all why I would recommend this film to anybody. Do yourself a favor and watch something else instead.
