Strange Empire - another god-awful ill-conceived series from CBC. The acting is flat, the characters have no real development and the story lines are more than improbable. In case anybody does not know there was no political correctness in the 1880's besides virtually no sanitation. The viewers who raved about the show have obviously never seen how good a television series can be, Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black, The Wire etc. This is another embarrassingly amateur effort and the barely measurable ratings prove it. Unfortunately there are lots of Canadians who get all gushy because a show is Canadian made and they got the exposure right.
