I think this was one of those shows that told more truth than Hollywood was comfortable with, so they bought it and ruined it.
If you are going to watch, just watch season 1, it was deep, emotional, suspenseful, and just told lots of truths that my friends and I have seen in the L.A. scene.
Season 2 turned into "feel sorry for the pretty white guy who has everything but just can't be happy" "every girl wants to be a slut" "let's forget the Black character's importance" "we're in L.A. without any Latinos, ignore that too" "oh, add one more story line about a sad, little white boy from the great north who wants to make it in L.A. with his racially ambiguous sister in tow"
Basically a MESS!
I saw no one like me (Asian) with any meaningful roles (real Hollywood, I guess) but the 1st season was WONDERFUL after that, everyone needed to be stopped!
