The Producers, Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, should have backed this movie because it is awful!!! Its a waste of some great actors, some good costuming and scenery.
The story line is confusing. I didn't know who was who, who to follow, or who to root for. I jumps around like a bad dream. I was surprised read here that its supposed to be about Catherine of Alexandria. Her story is lost with all the other story lines they try to tell.
It seemed like the editor tried to save the story line by using long shots with post production voice overs. Many movies use this trick but this movie needed a lot more.
It was also hard watch when in one moment you have on the screen A-list actors in Rome then you jump to chunky warrior women plodding though a Scottish forest killing Romans in B/C-movie fashion.
I'm glad I got this at the library for free.
