Like lover,like son.

Third installment in the Caroline Chérie saga;although she is not mentioned in the cast and credits ,the audience probably thought that maybe Martine Carol would make a guest appearance:for that matter, let's recognize that the last picture is rather smart.

Only Jacques Dacqmine takes on his part of a French general;Jean- Claude Pascal ,who was featured in "Un Caprice De Caroline Chérie"too ,is cast as Caroline's son whereas he played her lover in the precedent episode .Dad,however , does not seem to call his dubious paternity into question.

The first episode of the saga, probably because the lines were written by Jean Anouilh is the one to Watch if you are fond of eventful gallant adventures ;this one takes place in Spain, where Napoleon put his brother Joseph on the throne and pits the French army against the guerrillas who fight for a free Spain;even the English soldiers intervene and ,had they watched the movie at the time,it could have suggested them a good idea ,as far as Napoleon's fate was concerned, when he was defeated and fell into their arms.

Like Caroline ,who was shifted around the camp of the revolutionaries and that of the royalists ,Juan if first rejected by everybody, from the resistant fighters who do not want to have a noble among their ranks but use him as a servant to the French general who wants to have him shoot as a spy (his own son,but he does not have a clue!)

Jean-Claude Pascal is a handsome officer ,but without more than a little help of the ladies he meets on his way,he would be defeated every fifteen minutes .One of these dames is none other than a brunette Brigitte Bardot as Pilar ,his would be sister.BB will be ,for most of the male viewers ,the main interest for she appears now and then all along the movie.
