This movie is missing something important. It has no soul. It has no Heart. It's streamlined and unsurprising. There seems to be no distinct climactic point as well as problems with suspense. You are never invested and everything feels lackluster. It's very barebones plotwise and revokes at best a storyline from an old x-files episode. After watching it I had trouble figuring out why this movie was even made. It seems to me like the team behind it is hellbent on making anything new or boundary-pushing story/plot wise, which is a shame. Other Ti West movies have at least managed to create some sort of retro mood, but his attempt in Sacrament falls a long way short. So this movie is definitely not worth your time.
