One Spirit to bind them all
14 December 2013
I've been making documentaries for over 40 years and watching them even longer. It's extremely rare for me to sit through a film twice, but that's exactly what I did with Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds. The ideas presented in this excellent film will stir you, ignite (or reignite) a sense of wonder at the sacredness of the everyday and send you on an inner journey to the ultimate source of all being. Daniel Schmidt's script is exemplary and the cinematography is often breathtaking. This four-part gem is vastly larger than the sum of its exquisite parts.

Schmidt posits that scientists are discovering that the universal force of which the mystics spoke -- chi, ka, prana, the Holy Spirit, etc. -- might correspond to the so-called dark energy. The more we learn about physics, the less primitive some of the ancient teachings appear. Schmidt makes a compelling case for meditation as a vehicle for accessing sacred energy. If you don't come away from Inner Worlds, Outer Worlds with your pulse racing, you may not have one.
