Brash former Chicago police detective Jim Longworth (Matt Passmore) moves to Florida and joins the state police. He falls for nurse Callie Cargill (Kiele Sanchez), but she has a husband in prison.
The Jim and Callie romance does run out of steam after a couple of seasons. After awhile, it just seems very repetitive. They get close. There's a problem. Repeat. Until this last season where nothing much seems to be happening. In its core, this is a simple police procedural. Matt Passmore got the sarcastic cop bit down. However I think he needed a police partner rather than using the medical examiner as the pseudo-partner. They should have gotten him a female partner long ago. As a police drama, it worked for a few years. But the last couple of seasons have been stale. It started out pretty good but never got anything more.
