It must have been a truly bad day for TV because I ended up watching this movie. Sometimes I deliberately watch terrible movies for their instructional value, but there was nothing to learn from this film except for the shamelessness of the script writers. As scenes rolled by, I found myself watching in utter amazement that so many things could be ripped off from so many other films without so much as a word to say the writers understood that we knew where they got their ideas.
If the following constitute spoilers, then read no further, but honestly it is hard to spoil a movie this bad.
A map room buried in the sand? A staff to cast a shadow showing where to dig? Toppling a statue to break through an ancient wall? All ripped from "Raiders of the Lost Ark." How about a secret society who have protected a sacred trust for thousands of years? Stole that one from "The Mummy" (1999). Even got themselves a look-alike actor for the society's active agent.
Of course, dabbling in the affairs of God is nothing new -- and there is nothing new in this film, either.
If you have read this and other reviews, then you know all you need to know about this film.
