Too bad I already knew one particular song from an advertisement, that kind of ruined the feeling of it. Otherwise a nice Americana soundtrack, but it sounded a little too 'nice' compared to the harsh tone of the film (which is, strangely enough, also quite funny at times). Well, mostly harsh, because it was also like a more ordinary, 'wholesome' drama at other moments. And only a few times I felt that these two sides really came together, like in the opening scene.
The acting was pretty good and came across quite natural. Lots of familiar faces, but I could only put the name to one face (J.K. Simmons). And I got it right that I'd seen Alex Frost somewhere before; Van Sant's Elephant.
Not the best drama I've ever seen, but quite okay.
