Firstly,if you have watched Chinese Zodiac and thought it's a good action movie by Jackie Chan, probably this is the very first Jackie Chan that you have ever seen.
There were plenty of good action movies where Jackie Chan is a main protagonist,like Drunken Master, Project A,Police Story,etc..These movies were blended with actions and good sense of humour,but Chinese Zodiac wasn't able to categorized to the category.
What's wrong in this movie?
There were way too many annoying and forgettable characters in this movie, especially the French actress and the bodyguard, they were unnecessary in my opinion. The actions were fine, but what disappointed me is that the movie tried to be funny but failed. The humour just doesn't worked and made me hardly chuckled.
In the halfway of the movie, I felt like the movie lost it's direction and don't know where to go. After that, it reminded me of The Lord of The Rings moment,instead of "Drop the ring, Frodo", it went to "Save the bloody zodiac head, Jackie Chan"
I was completely let down by this movie and the only positive thing that I can said about this movie was that there were some cool moments in this movie.(The armored Jackie Chan scenes)
