Good Film

Under the Same Moon was good movie that showed the negative side of what happens to Mexican immigrants that cross the border. I enjoyed watching the protagonist's Carlitos journey on crossing the border from Mexico to Los Angele, California to be with his mother. However, it was skeptical and unrealistic that although he was a smart kid that a nine year old could successfully makes it across the border by himself with a few resources. The story carries well with a subject as emotional as illegal immigration, utilizing a theme of abandonment, the movie explains what it means to truly care for and cherish a child and a mother. Under the Same Moon is full of joy, sadness and possesses a symbolic ending. Personally, I enjoyed this movie because of what it entails, although the overall concept did not make some sense it is nice to see a happy ending for such an act that usually would not have a positive ending. I would recommend this movie to anyone wants to see the acts of the American INS against illegal immigrants and those who are tired of seeing and hearing about horrible endings to those just trying to make a better life for themselves and their families.
