Tender movie

For four+ generations, my family has visited the Georgetown, SC area and soaked up the incredible essence of this magical area. We recently visited the Georgetown Historical Museum where we purchased a movie filmed during Prohibition in Georgetown, SC.

First of all, let me recommend the charming and fascinating Georgetown Historical Museum--it is delicious and very educational.

Secondly, let me recommend this movie as a wonderful time capsule of life in a small coastal town. It was great fun to see local landmarks as they were almost 75 years ago.

The costumes also gave a huge "wow" factor. Girlfriend Patti was always dressed exquisitely and even the sailors were dressed beautifully. Tom Malone's mother lovely black taffeta dresses were incredible. (Although the way she sat in Tom's lap and kissed him on the lips made me a bit uncomfortable.) The stars of this movie are the children. Flocks of children love and adore Tom Malone. When Tom's ship comes into port, school is canceled. One of my favorite scenes is the dining room dinner the first night of Tom's arrival home. Two huge long dining tables are filled with people. One with all the children another with the adults.

This scene also has a funny and tender part where Tom and Patty are holding hands--noticed by some of the children.

This movie gives joy...the bad guys are bad, gossip rules poor decisions and everything works out beautifully in the end.
