No surprises at all, simply average

Warning: Spoilers
Being said it's a romantic comedy there actually can't be any doubt about the outcome of the movie. Especially not, if the movie is as old-fashioned as "Les Émotifs anonymes". The viewer knows every part of the storyline right from the beginning but i guess that's why some people love these kinds of movies. "Les Émotifs anonymes" is very warmhearted and light, the script doesn't dismiss its characters though it also doesn't take them too serious. In opposition to another reviewer I think there actually isn't any emotional depth, but that wouldn't matter too much if only the jokes were working. For a comedy "Les Émotifs anonymes" provides too weak comical elements. The jokes are neither subtle nor hilarious, at the utmost they make you smile. At some points "Les Émotifs anonymes" almost collapses due to absolutely unnecessary and ridiculous musical scenes. The cast is what really carries the movie. Everybody in the cast is acting at least solid and the main actors deliver excellent performances, above all lovely and wonderful Isabelle Carré. Altogether, in case you're not into old school rom-coms, this movie isn't worth a recommendation. It's not that bad but it's possibly the most old-fashioned movie this season. Imagine a remake of "Chocolat" but deduct the poetic fairytale references from it and replace Binoche and Depp with two (at some point annoyingly) shy characters. So some viewers may and (I'm sure) will say that "Les Émotifs anonymes" is a nice and cute piece of storytelling. Those people are right, but at the same time it is a very predictable, tame and boring piece of kitsch. Last but not least be forewarned this movie clearly tries to appeal to an elder and mostly feminine audience.
