I will personally say, that I absolutely adore this anime. Now, this adventure/ comedy series was based on an adult visual novel based on the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. In the visual novel, a man is accidentally taken back in time to an alternate historical China during the end of the Han dynasty. This is where all the male characters in the novel have been gender flipped into women for some unknown reasons. Now, putting the novel aside, the anime is just as good. In Koihime, a young woman named Kannu is a bandit hunter, who was known as the Black Haired Beauty (though, there was a running gag about her attractive hair). Anyway, she wants to free China from bandits. She wants to do this, because bandits killed her brother when she was younger. During her journey, she meets a young girl named Choui who was the leader of the Rin Rin Bandits. She later swears sisterhood with her, and they continue on their journey. They also meet a blue haired girl named Sei (who has an obsession with bamboo shoots, and a crime fighting persona named Butterfly Mask), Bachou, Souso, a general who is obsessed with Kannu's black hair, and other characters. Now the humor in this show isn't that awful. In fact, I compare it to the humor associated with One Peace, and Soul Eater. I like the show, because it is able to balance out humor and seriousness. The only thing I don't like in the show is the main group of bandits that are rather perverted. Seriously, why can't they just kill them? No one would be missing them. But overall, I highly praise this show, and I recommend it to any fan of watching women fight wars. Ten stars out of ten.
