Got Me With Sheesh! Cab, Bob?

Warning: Spoilers
H. Jon Benjamin was best used in Home Movies as the coach who had frank discussions with kids no parent would want a coach to have with their kids, then he would become frustrated by the simplest of things.

On Bob's Burgers, he so far hasn't really gotten a chance to shine, first he is domesticated, and clearly the wife and kids have been built up to be irritants for Bob. Still, the responses from Bob have been sparse.

Oh, the show has been good. Bob's best moment so far using Benjamin's voice was when he handed out the can of pee while confined within the wall.

The burglar at the dinner theatre episode was good too, but again, not because of Bob.

Whatever the reason, Sheesh! Cab, Bob? soared. Perhaps because at last there was a focus on Tina instead of making her the butt of jokes, likewise the dominant other characters also focused on her.

But above all else, Bob got to use the Benjamin voice how it is used best; speaking casually of offbeat, controversial characters and becoming upset at simple things.

The show seems reluctant do fleshed-out townspeople like The Simpsons has done, but how could we never have Marshmallow return? Linda is truly a breakthrough in doing away with the perfect mother Marge Simpson role (thank you, Peggy Hill), but while Peggy said and did stupid things, she was voiced intelligently by Najimy.

Linda is a dimbulb. If this woman ever does anything to emote sympathy, she will bring tears to my eyes (something Marge nor Lisa Simpson have ever done with their crying bits) Linda's attempt to dance and cheer up Tina just struck me as too funny, especially as it was used in Fox's animation domination commercial for a flabbergasted Simpsons family looking on.

But again, unlike the Simpsons episode when Lisa realized Homer was working himself into exhaustion to pay for her pony (her selfishness was never pinpointed in that episode), it was either Lisa herself or Marge who had to make Lisa realize what Homer was doing for her.

Tina had drag queens. Hello! It's known as humor.

Perhaps Bob will branch out some time later on with the Kevin Kline character (probably why Kline voiced the character).

Bob's Burgers has been good, very good, but this episode cinched that the creators know what to do with the show. Hope they don't blow it.
