What do you get when you cross Spy Kids with Porkies, or Pink Panther with Clerks, or Scooby Doo with a Saturday Night Live skit or a Cohen Brothers film? It's called Mystery Team. It's a raunchy, weird farce in which three gay nerds walk around saying things like "Great gumballs" through the nasty world in which some guys poops in the punch and some prostitute wants to suck them off. There is plenty of nudity, swearing, puking, violence and other scatological jokes, but it all goes over the heads of our three innocent goofball teenage detectives, who are just as oblivious as the characters in Dude Where's My Car or Harry or Kumar Go to White Castle. The writing and camera work is pretty good, resulting in some genuinely funny moments. But don't be misled. This one isn't for the kids.
