Review of Dragonfly

Dragonfly (1976)
5/10
The emotions run at a fever pitch
3 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
If you are seeking intensity, this could be your movie.

Beau flies off at the handle many times, for no apparent reason ... yet Susan is strangely attracted to him, and wants to be with and help him (and keep him out of trouble).

Beau has a brother, who does not like him, but the wife does, because Beau met and befriended her autistic child (the first person to EVER do that). This is a touching piece.

Beau is violent several times, including going through his Mom's house, swinging something (an ax?) and destroying most everything downstairs, while screaming something incomprehensible, then threatening to kill Susan when he meets her outside.

This movie is not for everyone, but if you can enjoy the raw intensity of a newly released mental patient, who lived since he was 13 in there instead of prison ... boy, this is it.

This movie is also called "One Summer Love" and it is shown frequently on premium cable.
