Wizards of Waverly Place (2007–2012)

I've seen a lot of Disney's shows since Lizzie McGuire and Even Stevens were around, and I have to say I enjoy Wizards of Waverly Place the most. It doesn't rely on excessive overacting to get laughs, which makes it less obnoxious than some other Disney's shows. I love the interaction between Alex and Justin, and I definitely appreciate how Alex doesn't get away with her schemes (unlike how the little sister in Drake & Josh gets away with everything, which bothers me so much I have to throw it in right here) and the fact that the parents aren't complete idiots.

This show isn't perfect, of course. The special effects are horribly fake, the jokes don't always make sense and can be downright lame, and Harper and Max are among the most underdeveloped characters in the history of sitcoms. I also feel that Selena Gomez's acting was a lot better in the beginning in the series, before Alex was established as a sarcastic girl who was too cool to care about anything. All of that, however, doesn't cancel out all the enjoyable aspects of this series. :)
