I can't think of a single theme in this show that hasn't already been drained dry by Buffy, Angel, Witchblade, Forever Knight, Moonlight, or True Blood. Do we really need another show with goody-two shoes vampires, spunky PIs, and cops on the edge? Really? I didn't think so, and after watching Blood Ties, I still don't. It's beyond my comprehension why previous reviewers have bothered to provide a synopsis of this show, since it's just an amalgam of the aforementioned series.
If you're really Jonesing for a hit of moody vampire action and can't be bothered breaking out the box set of any of the other shows in this genre, then Blood Ties is better than nothing, but it's not something that people will still be reminiscing about in a decade.
