I love this "Mouseketeer" short
24 January 2009
I love Jerry & Nibbles together. Although in the early cartoons of his filmography, you would never hear Nibbles talk, except in the "Mouseketeers" cartoons and in the Cinescope cartoon "Robin Hoodwinked," where Jerry and Nibbles tried to free Robin Hood from prison. Of course Nibbles talked in a British Cockney accent.

This is the first of a series of Tom & Jerry cartoons, where Jerry & Nibbles are mousey musketeers and matching wits with Tom the palace guard/cat. In this cartoon, the Mouseketeers are stealing food from the palace banquet hall and Tom tries to stop them, but fail. I was surprised that he a cartoon character got executed, YIKES!

As I said before, I love a good swashbuckler neither movie or cartoon; take Daffy Duck's "The Scarlet Pumpernickel" for example. Also I love that Nibbles could speak flaunt French in the "Mouseketeers," something you would never hear in cartoons, because a cartoon character would speak different languages in a pseudo manner. So anyway, this cartoon is now became my favorite out of the "Mouseketeer" cartoons.
