Still Life (2006)
8/10
We can't forget who we are.
17 January 2009
Sanming (Sanming Han) goes to the village of Fengjie looking for his wife, Missy Ma (Lizhen Ma), who had run off 16 years prior. Her village was flooded for the Three Gorges Dam. His quest is complicated by the fact that over a million Chinese were relocated and scattered because of the dam.

While Sanming is working and waiting, Shen Hong (Tao Zhao) arrives looking for her husband Guo Bin, who had left her two years prior. The separation has taken a toll on her and she decides it's time to end things with her husband.

Zhang Ke Jia gives us a beautiful, but tragic film about how progress has affected so many lives.
