being a professional gambler for 40 years and seeing yonkers joe at the tribeca film festival i was blown away at watching palmenteri execute those amazing card and dice moves.although i,ve heard of cold decking and dice switching and was probably on the receiving end of both ,i was in awe .i also understand , through a reliable source that the gambling scenes are all based on fact and they truly happened .
the drama story was great and brought me to tears and laughter, with palmenteri ,lahti ,guiry ,rispoli and lerner ,it doesn,t get any better.
but ,once more ,i must say ,those gambling scenes were were over the top and i know that all those dice and card moves have never been seen on film before YONKERS JOE.for all you hold um and wanna be gamblers ,,YONKERS JOE is a must see film.amazing ,amazing amazing and i applaud all those involved with the making of YONKERS JOE.
