Two thumbs up for brevity - easily half the running time of most Latino soap operas, and it really helps. Watched it in Russian with one guy translating everyone, but didn't care. The acting and plot were enough not to detract from the looks, and Andres and Lucia sure are hot :) Guess that's called good casting.
Max (Salvador), is an envious and treacherous step-brother to Antonio (Andres) - heir to Lombardo fortune. Max marries a poor girl from Guadalajara, Raquel (Lucia), under Antonio's name. The aim is to then off Antonio, and marry the widow. However, the plan backfires since Antonio survives. Max blackmails Raquel to keep pretending to be Antonio's wife when Antonio reveals he's experiencing some post-traumatic amnesia. Antonio realizes that Raquel is a stranger, but wants to get to the bottom of the story...
Anyhow, if you can stand the early 80's fashion and hair, this series is better than most contemporary melodramas.
