The suck of the vampire

Warning: Spoilers
A great little well 45 min long film bundled with the Quiet Family DVD release. A lovely straight to video piece with some great camera shots; Ring style effects, great straight to video low budget blood effects and a good storyline and good acting.

South Korean vampire is the trademark of the film. The scene is a shot of a presumably psychologist or councilor interviewing the brother of a sister whom is a vampire. The plot contains a recording of the family video camera.

The psychologist discusses with the brother of the sister for a period before playing the tape. Now you are propelled into the core of the tape and the surrounding story. It starts in a family home where the shocked brother and sister find out that they have a vampire sister.

There is a debate about the subject. Is she a harmful vampire; why is she a vampire and so on. This includes a nice touch a of fast forward rarely seen in straight to video. The film then opens up as the vampire wants to tell her mum and dad that she is leaving.

The film then turns another corner as the family go out to the park to see the vampire in question "suck" on a victim for themselves. These subjects do not appear to die or turn into vampire themselves.

Then as the film ends she leaves to England. The last scene of the film is the vampire and her sister in a room spread out on a bed. Her sister wants her to suck her off without the scar being noticeable.

All in all a good straight to video vampire flick with some interesting camera shots. The transfer quality which I have is not that brilliant. The acting is of good standard and the direction is very good for a release of that budget. Cinematography is also awesome for something so limited. This shows another aspect to Kim Ji Woon's filming. Not only can he produce the glossy ala 'Tale Of Two Sisters' and 'A Bittersweet Life' but also the low budget straight to video end of film making too.

This film is a good example of the director being a bit more diverse. I am very impressed by the ability of Kim Ji Woon.
