Revolver (2005)

Painful. Very painful

You either love this kind of movie or you hate it. If you like to watch movies that are not meant to be figured out (some call that thought-provoking) in which people struggle with their inner self but you can't tell whether that person is mentally ill, hallucinating or whether the director is on drugs, then this one's for you.

I, for one, hated it and barely managed so sit through it. I kept looking at the timer to see how much longer I have to endure to see the end - which was as disappointing as the rest of this waste of film. OK, so the acting was good even if Ray Liotta was a bit over-the-top for me.

I dislike this kind of movie because of the annoying way the already thin plot is stretched and twisted to hell and beyond. One is bombarded with meaningless, endless monologues and psycho babble which only gets worse as the minutes drag by. The few red herrings thrown in to disguise the lack of a plot do nothing for the movie either.

I suppose you'd really have to watch this one a few times to make some sense of it but what for. I was glad it was over first time 'round.
