What? Its not a period drama?
27 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The posters and covers for this movie are so misleading - you see a man wearing a period wig and you think "Now robin williams is doing pride and prejudice?". This is set in present day and follows the plot of a very popular TV presenter that begins to get so popular that it opens new doors for him. This whole movie could be interpretted as an exaggeration or worse case elaboration on Gvnr. Swarzeneggers appointment. However, its not a dig at celebrities but a generally pleasant movie with a great cast and a giant unadulterated dig at the bush election that they managed to slide through the back door. The movies a bit of a 'Robin Williams'-fest with no other likable protagonists so you have to love him to really get into it.
