Infamous (2006)

Warning: Spoilers
Infamous obviously failed (and continues to do so for those who have seen both films). However, I saw the DVD with my roommate, who had never seen Capote and didn't know much about In Cold Blood, Truman Capote or the people in the movie. He enjoyed it and thought it was a good film. I think if you come in that way, without having seen the Bennett Miller version of similar events, you can enjoy this film for what it is.

My biggest complaints include the talking head portions. In a narrative film (even about real people), it was more disconcerting and felt more out-of-place, than it moved the story forward and helped the overall film. While Toby Jones was good, his portrayal was, at times, a bit too over the top (although at times that was wardrobe and other decisions which may have been the choices of the director, producer, designer or the other crew) and while Daniel Craig is an excellent actor and did well in this film, he looked to old for the part visually given the age of the other criminal. Either the other part should have been cast by a somewhat older man or someone else should have played Perry Smith.
