Drama on the brink of war
10 July 2007
Excellent description of the morale of children during the war. There is Satellite who represents hope through his buoyant spirit and action on one hand, and there is a young girl "Agria" who gives up hope due to the privations she endures along. I was fascinated to learn of this children life living without parents, and of dangers they had to go through in order to survive – like picking mines! I was also impressed by this children-actors coverage of the story – they are SO TALENTED! The way this director dispersed roles by not leaving out injured children, more so- giving them chief roles left me in admiration. "Turtles can fly" is a moving film about children forced to mature sooner than they should.
