Lamest of action movies.
13 April 2007
In this movie there are good guys, bad guys, car chases, gunfire, people saving their lives at the last second or by chance. In fact, everything a Hollywood action movie must have. I'm not a big fan of this type of movies, but I can admire the entertaining potential of a good action movie. The difference between this and a good one, is on the production money and on the direction of the film. The movie is made with, apparently, more money than "Amores Perros" and "Y Tu Mamá También". But obviously not enough for an action movie and/or it was not used correctly. The bad guys can't aim a gun correctly (they miss steady shots 3 meters away on a big target) -very convenient for the good guys, of course-. The car chases happen at about 20 to 30 km/h (absolutely lame). The bad guys stare and talk to their victims for 20 seconds before killing them (again, very convenient for the good guys). The story is lame, and in the end of the movie the writer convinces you (without the writer's knowledge, of course) that the whole argument of the story was unnecessary. Dialogues are pretty badly written, the characters are not good characters and the acting is bad (actors look like they don't know what is the character meant to feel), and the drama goes for your cheapest emotions. Oh, and I forgot. There are a lot of goofs. The car is left at the direction given by the dying guy. But suddenly the car is outside the hotel room (did the bad guys move it, or what?). I remember there were more, but for the moment I don't recall.
